The Challenger Division was established as a separate division in Little League in 1989.  The division is run by the district vs the local league.  Challenger division enables children the opportunity to play baseball with physical and mental challenges.

Challenger division is made of players from age 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school.  Teams are created according to abilities, rather than age.  A team may have as many as 15-20 players.  Games are played as a combination of any of the following: TBall, coach pitch and player pitch.  Each player will get a chance to bat.  The side is retired once the offense has batted through their line up or when a preset number of runs have scored or there are three outs.  Typically scores are not kept during Challenger games.

If interested in signing your child up for the Challenger Division, please contact District 54 Challenger Representative: Marnie Hoirup (ramblingrose@sbcglobal.net).  Cost is only $30 and includes a t-shirt and baseball cap.
