Many people, business and organizations came together and raised approximately $1.2 million to refurbish the field and create the state of the art facility, now known as JMF.
Deputy Jeff Mitchell Field is located next to Williams Brooks Elementary School designated as a memorial field to all public service members who lost their lives in the line of duty. The entrance has three over sized baseballs representing the three public service agencies in the area: El Dorado Hills Fire Department, Sacramento County and El Dorado County Sheriff’s.
The initial game was an exhibition competition between law enforcement and firefighters and opened Aug. 29, 2009 and dedicated as Little League field.
The field was built in memory of Jeff Mitchell, he and his wife Crystal were resident’s of El Dorado Hills. He was a Deputy for Sacramento County Sheriff Department. Jeff was an avid baseball fan, had a passion for kids, baseball and spent time teaching his son Jake the game, as well as coaching for El Dorado Hills Little League south. The movement for the memorial diamond came following his death while on duty in 2006.
JMF is the pride and joy of El Dorado Hills Little League and our only field with lights.
